My Books

Here are some of my favorite books. I'll keep this section updated with new books as I discover them.

Self-Help Books

Warrior of the Light (Paulo Coelho) is a manual of short notes on accepting failure, embracing life, and rising to your destiny. Following Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist concept of warrior of the light, each notes are written as an explanation of the warrior's behavior and ways of life. All notes are less than a page long and are very profound.

How to Talk to Anyone (Leil Lowndes) is a compilation of 92 tricks to heighten communication skills. These tricks are for all situations from personal relationship to talking to a celebrity. I admit that my communication skills are not the best and when I know I'm going to encounter a specific situation requiring good communication I'll check if I can find a few tricks in this book.

Tribes (Seth Godin) is a book I read a while ago which talks about leadership through the creation of tribes. Seth Godin is great at explaining his concept through real life example. Now that I'm writing this tiny review I realize that this blog is some sort of tribe as explained by Seth in his book. Leadership is all about bringing people together and Seth does a great job giving tools and tips to achieve that.

Others

Everyone Loves You When You're Dead (Neil Strauss) is a compilation of some of Neil Strauss' interviews he did while writing articles for magazines and newspapers. It offers a new refreshing view on stars like Chuck Berry, Britney Spear, Snoop Dog and lots more. Even people at the top are insecure, vulnerable, uneasy and have hidden selves they don't show on the scene. Neil does a great job in showing us those precious moment. I did not put this book in self-help but much can be learned from all these very successful persons.
